Cheapest way to Brim fish is get a cheap cane pole. Gets out there nicely and all ya gotta do is pull the fish right up to your lap.
I don't specifically fish for brim... but sometimes my 4 year old like too... so I just use my UL for them.

I am a avid Wally Marshall fan, have 6' thru 8 foot rods, use Zebco 11 spincast, 4 lbs line and wear them out. Used to be Galyns UL rod fan until they were bought out by Dicks, but Dick's is more into sports clothes than outdoor gear

I would also like to know which Finesse you like - I am between the 7'9 3 wt. or 4 wt. for Florida brim and north Ga. trrout.

I have the 1-weight, 6'9 Finess 4-piece. Great little rod. I've caught the 7'9 3-weight and like it very much.

    Thumbs up Hybrid

I can only hope that I have a new favorite rod being made for spring.
I finally dropped my guard and have a hybrid rod on order. It will be my favorite length of 8 1/2' having spinning eyes and handle on a #3 wt. fly blank. ole Mike
