Default Best way to see jig with LS

New to LS. My research has turned up 3 interesting methods.
    1. Slip a cylindrical piece of bait plastic (ie - 1 1/2” peice of plastic worm) through the center and raise it about 12” or so above the jig.
    2. Put a slip shot above the jig about a foot or so.
    3. Use braid fishing line

    Any other ideas?

In you opinion what would work best?

    Thanks,
    Dan

So Danny at Performance Fishing Electronics sells “bait pop”. I have no experience with it only read and watched the video shorts.

    Best way I've found :

Use a double jig rig to help distinguish your baits from surrounding "noise" or small fish, etc. You may also catch doubles on occasion.

Click your LS transducer back a click (or two) so you can see the baits "splash down" on the surface. (the only negative in doing that is that you lose distance "backwards" from the transducer)

That's not to say your ways won't work ... this is just how I do it.

The only negative on the split shot deal is it "may" make the jig fall too fast, and/or it may "lead" the jig (if it's heavier than the jig) and be the first thing the fish sees. The plastic threaded on the line sounds like it would work better, but keeping it in place on the line may be a problem.

Using braid is fine, but just make sure the rod & guides are capable of handling braid.

I thought about mixing a bunch of glitter in some petroleum jelly to see if it would show up better on livescope as an experiment.

Double rig or a #5 split shot about 12-15” above bottom jig is my choice!
    Too blessed to be stressed!

Evidently holographic glitter has an aluminum coating so i'm going to add a bunch of glitter to some vaseline & see if it shows up good on livescope. If it does then i'll add some scent to it too & see what happens.

Yesterday I tried using braid straight to the jig. Unfortunately it didn’t help much if any. I’ve seen braid show up on YouTube, but maybe 8 or 10 pound braid is too small to work.

I have no problem seeing a single 3/32 or 1/16 jig with 6lb braid with a fluorocarbon leader. What are your settings?

GreenWing, I can see my 1/32 jig, but thought that the 10# braided line would also show.

I’m not sure comparing settings will be very relevant. My waters and environment are sure to be different from yours. I did get a local crappie magician’s setting for the same lake I fish. They are saved and are used as a baseline when fishing that lake.

In south Louisiana our waters tend to be shallow (3-7 ft), often murky, with loads of vegetation. The screen is often filled with information. Since the water is shallow we tend to fish outward and close to the fish.

    Thanks for the relpy…

Try turning your color gain up to see if it helps without getting the returns to hot looking.
