we launch in the dark and mostly drop bamboo buckets , easy to make and right portable ,drop about 20 or so a year in various lakes out of boats and about another 20 or so off the bank , they flat out are worth the time and energy ,,,,
wife always complains about them and asks why I have to put out so many ....
I always say this about that ,,,,Cause I love to ketch crappie ....

I like to drive stakes the best. Easy to carry a load to the lake and start driving them in.
The MS big 4 lakes have habitat day in February, Enid lake is the first Saturday.
I try to cut bamboo stakes during January. Last cutting we had 2 trucks and 2 trailers full for 2 lakes.
On a gardening group a member started a thread on how to get rid of bamboo. I posted on a few fishing groups about a cutting day. One reply. save them for winter when the lakes are low. I'll try again in January.
Ross Barnett lake at Jackson MS wants plastic only. They want photos of the habitat and where it will be dropped.

We always had a yard full of stuff . Women just don't appreciate that kind of stuff . But with all the high tech electronics you can't hide anything

We drive some beds too but on our lakes the fish spend most of the year in water too deep to drive stakes in.

Exactly opposite on our local lakes . Most of the year spent shallow here .

We drop boo buckets and spider buckets.
They are a lot more persistent than wood, for us.

Unfortunately Ohio prohibits anglers from putting in any kind of structure. DNR says the do but I have yet to find any. KY here we come…
