BTW I like the idea of pool noodle floats! Got just the stuff to make them!

Forgot to mention - I keep a cooler in the boat to keep a few fish alive for my pond along with a pail to take water out and put fresh water in - especially on a hot day. Fish are transferred to a large cooler in the truck bed when leaving the lake. Rarely have fish die withing 40 min. from home. Lunkers aren't kept/ med. size for spawning and large y. perch. Heron come by a few times a week.

I take a roll around suit case with one change of clothes and the rest of the suit case is filled with fishing stuff and every kind of jig made. What is the use of always buying different jigs if you're not going to use them. The extra set of clothes are for the times my wife won't let me back in the house because I fished all day and was to tired to take her out to eat.

In my experience, buying and then actually using a majority of stuff bought, are two different animals no matter where my stuff is kept.

I carry very little when I am fishing from a boat and nothing but a rod and a fanny pack when fishing from the bank. I can't fish in boat with crap all over the place. I could never be a bass fisherman because having 12 rods on the deck would drive me crazy. You will never have to watch were you put your feet if you fish from my boat. Everything is neat and tidy. Two rods, safety gear and a Plano box with all of my tackle is all I carry.

Way more than I need, normally .... but, too afraid of not having that "ONE THING" that I "might" need, so I usually take too much stuff.

My fishing bud & I are always joking about ... "gonna need a bigger boat" ... but then realize if we had a bigger boat, we'd probably take even more "STUFF" (and be back to square one)

For sure except I take only what's on the list.

Grainraiser - you call'n me a disorganized slob?!! lol
Believe me, my stuff is organized and easy to find when I need it. No duplications.
Even when I fished from my flat bottom canoe, I carried the same gear and never more than 4 rods, one battery box which contained smaller compartmentalized boxes of lures, zip lock bags for lures that wouldn't fit into those boxes and tools, jaw grips, etc.

The trolling motor was hung on one side in front of the oar lock and the battery 2' away from my feet.

    Gotta do whatcha gotta do.
