    Default Leak

I was fishing a couple weeks ago. Had been on the water a couple hours and had just caught a few good ones. I shifted my butt and weight to one side and ended up in the water. The hull had a lot of water in it. I’ve set it off the ground 3 times and filled it with water. Can’t find a leak anywhere. Any tips??Also how can I tell when it’s taking on water??Its a Feelfree Moken 12.5.

Had similar issue with my boat as well. My leak came from a busted bilge pump and water was leaking into the boat that way. It looked like water in the pump froze over winter causing it to expand and crack. The way I checked for leak was pushing slow stream of water into the intake. Just a suggestion and good luck!!

Scuppers are usually the weakest place on a kayak. Then I would look at anyplace hardware is attached, handles, drainplug, foot rest etc. Rarely does the hull have a hole in it, and I have never seen a bad seam leave the factory (but they do occur).

I didn’t check the scuppers. That could be it. Thanks.

Well I’m flustered. Set it up best I could at home and filled it with water. Nothing. Brought it to work yesterday and did a good set up and filled it again. Nothing. Took it out after work yesterday for over 2 hours. Dry as a bone.

Interesting. I had a livewell overflow hose that had rubbed a hole in itself under the deck. Like to have never found that one

I've caught fish and brought them in with a net. They drip water and it accumulates on the floor of the kayak. Could something like this be the issue? I always keep a sponge in the kayak to soak up and remove excess water.

No. The hull was almost half full. Just after a couple of hours.
