I have seen them paired up with Bobby Garland Baby shad in a pack of 2 hanging in the store. They seem to work pretty well that way. I am sure the blade puts some extra movement into the tail.
What is your favorite type of body for Road Runner style heads and how do you fish them? I've used them with curl tail bodies and really haven't caught much with them.

I use curly tails a lot but I’d say my favorite is a paddle tail, slider style bait paired with a road runner head. I use these almost every time I cast the banks of troll. Use this combo almost every time I’m on the water

If your fishing a road runner with a 2 inch curly and not catching fish something is wrong. Been using that combo for a long time on different lakes with good success.

Actually, personally I prefer marabou on a Road Runner over plastics.

I mainly cast Road Runners, but have been known to Long Line Troll, Push, and Flip them.
as stated, in the instruction manual , fish it SLOW
most of the time a roadrunner aint ketchn fish it is because someone is fishing it too fast .
I like a really soft " twisting " type tail on them dropped slowly down big timber in the summer .
flat out deadly in some spots for sure .

What size road runner head? 1/8, 1/16?
If 1/8 may be going to fast to stay in the strike zone.
What depth water are you fishing?
I used to use either white or yellow marabou roadrunners and cast them with the retrieve dragging along the bottom near of crappie beds….always had great success

I reach for the Southern Pro Crappie Stinger on a 1/32 oz. head usually, maybe a 1/16" if they are deeper than about 15' or so.
Yes, I was talking to myself; sometimes even I have to ask for expert advice.
