    Default Frothy oil at exhaust

I'm not sure what the name for these two ports are called, but there is frothy oil where the water discharges. I do a lot of idling so just want to see if this should be happening or if I have some underlying issues. This is on a Johnson 115, I changed the water pump a few days ago and noticed a lot of real thick oil at the base of the exhaust housing at the lower unit as well. Just hoping this isn't a sign of a blown head gasket or something major.Name: IMG_20220117_103256.jpg

It's a 2 stroke. It has the vro system that I deleted. I use it just for the fuel pump. I mix my own oil . I wonder if I may have too much oil or the brand oil that I'm using. I use Pennzoil if it matters

That is what I am thinking. Unburnt oil mixing with water in the exhaust. I remember fooling around with 2 stroke dirt bikes years ago. When you got the oil a little rich it would drip out of the joints in the exhaust. Long as it isn't fouling the plugs or making a huge mess I would run it. Do a lot of idling doesn't keep it blown out.

Plugs are not getting fouled they are actually pretty clean. Makes me feel better about it, I was hoping it wasn't something like a head gasket. I do a lot of idling around scanning for structure

Every once in awhile while doing your idling around just put in neutral and use leaver to run idle up to about 1500 and let run for 4-5 minutes to try to keep more of it burned out. That might help some. But no fouling issues I wouldn’t mess with oil mix. Not really going to hurt anything as is.

    50-1 oil mixture I assume?
You should also run the engine for at least 5 minutes at WOT.
After idling around all day you probably aren’t getting the engine up to operating temp.
Rust take a nice WOT run before putting it on the trailer.

It is 50:1, I took the boat out today to do some scouting and did open it up for a brief moment. It was far to cold for much more lol.
