I thought about splitting a tube & welding 2 collar clamps to it that would fit the upper shaft on a minn kota maxxum. This way you could tighten it up on the shaft. Then weld 2 pieces of either flat stock or tubing to it to run out away from the shaft & weld another tube to it to be able to drop a pole with a collar on it to be able to adjust depth & mounting the transducer on it. This way it would deploy & stow with the trolling motor. It would be on the upper side of the trolling motor when stowed. Imagine a sort of an H sticking out from the trolling motor if that helps. It would be pretty light built out of aluminum or it could possibly even be done in pvc by splitting 2 Ts & clamping around the upper shaft with exhaust clamps. Has anybody done a d i y mount like this?

I used thinwall PVC for my inner pipe which was the perfect diameter to allow th transducer cable end to run inside eliminating having to deal with the cable picking up floating debris. I also added a"T" at the bottom which allows me to set the transducer inthPanorama positin. Other than that a simple ram mount to the boat like so many others. hope it gives you some ideas.Name: IMG_1005.JPG

Also added the stainless hose clamp at the top to be able to adjust the tension on the inner pipe. Green tape is just temporary protection from the sharp edges of the cable slot. when I am satisfied with everything I will fill the slots with spray foam to protect the cable.

How far above trolling motor should a person have their livescope transducer be so that they wouldn't see motor part of it when scanning if they made one sort of like DOFC did? I'm thinking mine would be lying straight up above when stowed.

Not an expert but I would think that the transducer looking forward wouldn't read the motor head in that configuration.
