    Default Missing out

With this near perfect weather for this time of year I’ve been laid up with gout in my knee. Doc thought it was something torn at first but thankfully once the swelling went down and a trip to orthopedic they determined it was gout. Much better but my wife told me if I went and it flaired up she wasn’t coming to help me walk. lol. But I hope you are all catching the limits I’m dreaming of.

A crutch can be ordered from Amazon. As soon as it arrived I would be on the boat

Hope you get to feeling better soon. Gout is some painful stuff. I will be stuck at work all weekend.

Wish you a quick recovery, from my understanding red meat is a big contributor.

Hateful stuff for sure. Had it in my ankles before ...would've swore a 2×4 had more flex. Wishing a speedy recovery for you.

Hope you feel better soon. Went and scoped out 8 mile creek the other day, the launch and retrieval is a little daunting for sure.

Thanks. It is not fun. Lol. If you don’t mind a long paddle there is a great put in about 1.5 miles upstream. But this time of year I find most of the fish there around the tough put in. Go figure. Lol

Safer for fish there. Most people won't take the trouble to get there

DK - don't mess with that gout. Find out what is causing it (either your body is producing too much uric acid, or your body is not getting rid of the uric acid correctly). Then, start taking your daily medicine. I've not had a flare up in 16 years once I got my medicine (Alopurinol) adjusted to the correct level. And no, I don't leave home without it!! The first time you get a flare up in your left knee and one in your right big toe and can't walk to the restroom, let alone go fishing, you will get to the doctor! But don't wait for that to happen. Longer joint exposure to the build up can cause permanent damage!

I'm no doctor, but I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night! LOL!
