    Default I KABOOMED HIM !

and he took it well .....
left like it was black friday sale and the doors just opened ...
was coming straight to me , AND ...locked up when I eased the rifle into position .
Was about 60 yards due east straight away and put one from his north end to his south end upon him .
he was in fact as big as he looked the other day across the field from me and upon impact of said 30 06 round and the dust a flying , never seen him again !
wanted to take him right between the eyes ,but he turned his head as he looked into the brush like he was one jump from being gone .
settled for a mid center spot and let it KABOOM !
no pig squeal, no grunt , not a sound , never even heard leaves rustle after the shot
30 minutes before dark and DID NOT go looking for him until the next day ...
never saw a single sign of him and gave up pretty easy as I walked thru the brush with my auto on full ready and jumpy as a hare in rattlesnake country .
kept thinking what if he is alive and in here somewhere , he would really hurt me in close quarters for sure .
that is my story and that is how it went ....only saw 4 deer and the rut and big moon is upon us ......

If he took one straight on from a 06 he probably isn't long for this world. That is a lot of bullet to shrug off

It is good that you lowered the Kaboom on him just the same.

Had a neighbor that hunts them with dogs and a Bowie knife. Wanted to know if I wanted to join him. Said the dogs get them cornered in the bushes, and then I would charge in and stick him. Shame the dogs never found a good trail that day.

    LOL
Maybe they will bite this one……

Wasn't it Robert Baden Powell ( the founder of the Boy Scouts) that enjoyed the sport of pig sticking. The hunting of wild boar with a spear. If I remember correctly you antagonized the boar until it charged you impelling itself on your spear as you stood fast. That took nerves of steel

Nerves of steel? I'm thinking of some other anatomical parts! And maybe some neurological issues!

Those would definitely be made of brass. Perhaps even naval bronze as an upgrade. I believ the quote was killing a boar by any other means was down right unsporting of a chap.

hunted once with horses and pit bulls and some kind of kerr dogs .
them boys used knives tooo , just a bit over the top for me .
them pit bulls get flat out crazy when it gets down to ketchn big boars
they bite EVERYTHING in the area , one even bit a horse in the escapade .
threw the rider and the horse kicked him in the face .
laughed it off all the way to the emergency room to wire his jaw back together

Them Cur dogs are some prized hunters. Had one mixed with a walker. Tobie had half a blue eye. That critter would run a deer to death
