Edit: I see after looking at a map that I need to put in at the lower ramp, not upper ramp by the camping area. The lower ramp pretty much puts you out very near the river channel.
Straight across to square sign in tree on south bank , if you get off right or left it is not good . . Then next way is stay 100 yards off north bank headed east to the river at Anderson branch

Prolly a lake I would only launch in during the summer months...

I been fishing here for over 50 years but folks that don't know the lake need to take it slow

Why does a boat sink if it runs aground? I guess I missed something. They must have hit something that penetrated the hull? Still, with an aluminum boat, there should be enough floatation in the seats to keep it from going to the bottom.

Unless waves wash over it . Have seen them against the bank and swamped . I was wondering about it not floating as most have built in floatation ?

This is a really good thread as I'm a newbie and got caught in the shallow water on the west end of the lake trying to get to the river channel. Good thing my boat has a shallow draft as I had to raise my TM and troll out and into the river channel.

But once reaching the river itself and the channel between the green/red bouyes in the lake, Good to go, right??

That wave running along behind sure puts a lot of water in the boat when it catches up with you in a hurry

Straight across to square in tree on south bank but better not veer left or right at river or you will run aground . Next way is stay about 100 yards off east bank and around point to river in front of Anderson Branch . Do not try going across in Carter Creek because shallow humps and stumps all over before you to get to the river .

But look at west end . The navionics chips don't show west end and that is where most get in trouble
