Am running a Blackhawk 2170 and it has the extension with light package on it. I wish that we would not have put on the extension because the additional length makes it difficult for to operate the Ultrex cable steer foot control. The cables to the foot control are barely long enough to get the foot pedal to rest flat on the deck. I don’t know what the difference in the specs of a 2170 to a 961 but you might want to check that out. If you operate your trolling motor using a remote there are no issues to be concerned with. Hope this helps. Couldn’t be happier with the War Eagle boat and if you have any special request that you would like to have built in John Ward is always open to hear you out and make it happen if possible. Good people - good products.

I can’t comment on the modifications you speak of but I’ve looked at the 861 and 961 and hands down, I’m in for the 961. More room overall and even better, more storage. I don’t have to say how much better the extra 2’ is in rough weather. My choice, money not an option, would be the 961. Good luck with the choice.

I sure could use a handrail on my Tracker. Wonder if I can sell the idea on a new War Eagle to my wife since I need a handrail..LOL.
