Check out Bonehead Rods. Great rod but pricey. The guides in East Tx all use them. I have 4 and they are great. Solid backbone with great sensitivity.

I use a Norsemen Outdoors ESP 6'6" PowerLite rod ( E66PLS 6’6″ Power Lite Rod – Norsemen Outdoors ) but if I were purchasing another one, I'd look to Grizzly Jig Co. for a better price.

Another vote for the micro series rods. I’ve had every one from 4’6” to 7’ and still have a 5’6”, 6’6” and 2@7’. The other sizes just didn’t work for the way I fish or I gave them to someone close to me. Best bang for the buck I can think of and I’ve never broken one, unlike the cherrywood rods which I’ve broken every one. I have a browning airstream in 6’6” that is simply wonderful but just a shave heavier than the trout slayer series that is a feather in your hand, also 6’6”. My strongest advice is to handle whatever you buy with your reel of choice before you buy, too many differences to just say “this should work”.

A little longer then a 6 and a half footer but the 7 ft Sam Heaton is a great rod in my opinion and should still be available.

i have 3 prototypes in my arsenal , the 7 was designed to my specifications rather exactly . Josh (the original ) owner and myself teamed up to get him into the crappie angling tackle world . he sold the company though and i dont know much about them anymore .
i hear the ones they sell are much different nowadays though and have not held one of the recent models .
