    Default Electric knife

Bought a rapala from a member on here, after seeing post about how good they where. I completely agree I tried it out for first time this morning it’s a game changer.

My several year old American Angler knife quit after cleaning hundreds of fish. I wanted another American Angler but the only local option was a Gold model that set me back $179.95!!OUCH!! A good mechanic doesn’t buy his everyday tools at Harbor Freight either.

Never could get the hang of the electric knife although I try again occasionally. Like my Rada best of any I have used.

Nice! No telling how many electric knives I've been through over the past 30 years....Rapala, Mister Twister, American Angler, Black and Decker, Hamilton Beach, Proctor Silex. I still believe the best bang for your buck are the ones from the appliance section at Walmart, about $12. At that price if the blades get dull it's nothing to just grab another one with sharp blades that are ready to go. I do however save my dull blades for small fish like bluegill, I prefer dull electric knife blades on bluegill as a sharp electric knife cuts the backbone too easily. I think I've only burned up one and that was by getting too aggressive on some thick rib bones on a 6 lb bass. I can't imagine buying one of those $100+ knives and trying to make it last forever.

Please report back after some heavy use. The Rapala products I've purchased lately seem to be lacking in quality from what used to be on the shelves, I'm curious how well that Rapala knife will hold up.

I buy the cheap ones also and have good luck. Carry 2 worth maybe $12 each. When I burn one up I switch it out and grab another. A friend gave me a fancy one made for fish but blades are to short for me so I stick with the cheap ones.
