I bought a MinnKota with the graphite shaft because of this very problem.
You might try a conduit bender.

Went to a delta lake full of stumps and logs. Managed to hit one, and bent the shaft on my TM. A hand controlled Motor Guide. They use the stainless, or metal shaft. This is the second MG I have had the same problem with. Put it in a vise, tried to pull on it, and the vise turned with the pressure. You have to apply pressure sideways. Short of taking the head off, what is a possible solution? Thanks.

Duck, take it to a local muffler shop. They should have some dyes small enough to straighten it out pretty good, or a commercial electrical shop might have something. I’m sure you know someone down there that can help you out. Might even try a machine shop, they should have V blocks and a press that could do the job.
I could use my pole saw straightened as well while y’all at it...lol. It lasted all but a day with this hack,,,$700 down the drain

Thanks for the replies. I took it to a machine shop, and the guy told me “at least 85.00”. I said no thanks. Would rather buy a new one. I am through with MG with the shafts they use.
