I use suffix hi-vis yellow 4# test. No problems. I also use suffix elite 8# with no problems all on spinning reels. I have moved up to 2000 & 2500 size reels for my trolling setups just for the larger diameter spool which seems to help a lot.

Same way I've been spooling spinning reels all my life. How do you suggest I do it? Additionally, I removed the Suffix from all ten (10) reels. Replaced eight (8) with Mr. Crappie and Berkley. I put the same Suffix back on two (2). They are not overfilled. I even went as far as doing what "catchngrease" suggested (see post). The eight spooled with the aforementioned performed flawlessly. The two with the Suffix did the very same thing. Line coming off spool at bottom and wraps around frame of reel. Could it be the weight of the jig (1/24) possibly being too light?
What reels & what #test Suffix ??
I ask because I just spooled my buds Black Max 20 Spinning Reel with 8# Trilene XL ... not even to the normal 1/8" from spool rim ... and even after stretching it out & reeling back "empty" the line would still spring off half a dozen coils as soon as the bail was opened. He took it home and stretched it out again (CnG style) and tried casting with it, but it still did the same thing. He removed a lot of the line until it stopped doing that. He can still cast the same jig the same distance, even with a nearly half empty spool.
I use 6# Vicious Panfish Copolymer hi-vis for jig casting purposes, myself. And I do the same "stretching" process as CnG, and probably posted the method several times before on here. I've even used the "drag the empty line behind a idle speed boat" method to take out twists, but the only problem with that is it doesn't stretch the line coils out & just untwists the line.
Casting a light jig means less "pullback" on the line, so when you start reeling you're reeling loose line onto the spool. A jig will spin in the air when cast out (not always, but often) and that puts twist in the line that's not removed when reeled in. After awhile it can get so twisted that you'll get birdsnests or wind knots. I've found that happens most often when you "whip cast" the jig, not so much when you cast in a more fluid motion.

Pflueger Supreme, President & President XT. Daiwa Legalis LT1000D, Shimano Sedona and Piscifun. 6# Suffix Elite. I too, normally spool with the 6# Vicious. It was not available at the time and I found the Suffix. Thanks for your response.
