The difference for me is I'm old and lazy. I can sit down and shoot. I have to stand to skip. 1/2 the reason I own a stick boat. Never stand up.

Attaboy johndeere! Regardless of distance and weight and so on, I feel it’s all about accuracy and the way YOU fish. If you can’t hit the mark it’s all for nothing. I’ve had folks in the boat that were rookies to shooting pitch a 1/32 jig under a dock and bag a 5 1/2 lb bass. He was excited like a young kid for a good while. Enjoy the learning curve, I know I did. I now shoot with rods from 5 to 7pm, sometimes with whatever I have in my hand. Notice I didn’t say to what degree of accuracy. I have a 6’6” older lightning rod that is my hands down favorite rod for most everything, but it doesn’t do well in real tight quarters. Rod length and action is relevant to where you are at the moment. Keep after it and you’ll find that of which I speak.
Creativity is just intelligence fooling around
