About the only thing that changes toward winter is the size of jigs. Mostly fish 1/8 and 1/4 when warm and go to 1/32 in the cold and more blue hues.
I know we all have our preferences when it comes to jigs. I've tied my spring and summer colors. I'm looking for ideas for winter patterns. Post up pictures with info if you don't mind sharing. I'm curious if these patterns change much from the colors used throughout the spring and summer months.

Well I don't fish winter any more, just do not do it, lol! However since they are deep in winter the most sensible thing to me would be color that can be seen deeper than the ones that loose their color shallow. Blue and Violet, maybe some Purple would be what I would try. Also could use Black with them too.
Good luck,

Rooster, Here is a few I use with nibbles or wax worms. Now having said this we walk on the ice so cold water is relative to where I am. lol
Our forestry department marked trees with light blue paint this year. I was amazed at how well the blue shows up in low light conditions. That said, I Really like your top jig Grumpy.

Hey hdhntr, love Thill. worked in the power business for 25 years and know that powerhouse from top to bottom. Any time I got down there I would sneak off to the lake. What a unique little lake. Black and chart is always a go to.
1, 2, and 6 do it for me Grumpy.
Winter colors when I was in TN were Shad imitation because of all the bait. 1/8 and 1/4oz brush guards held as near still as possible boated a lot of fish for me.

Haven't lived up that way since the early 90's, but both of those lakes were generally pretty clear in the winter and my favorite color for cold, clear water has always been all white or pink/white.
