    Default Limestone

I fished limestone today from 11till around 4:30. I started fishing shallow lay downs in the creek. Caught a few short fish. Then I went on up the creek. Found a lay down in what I’m guessing was around 8 feet. Started catching some there. Caught some shorts and some keepers. They were all black crappie. They stopped so I moved to the other side. I started catching whites on that side. Same thing. Some good ones some shorts. I ended up keeping 10. That’s the best day I’ve had in my kayak. Thanks to Ditch Basser and CatchNGrease for all the help and info. I’ll get it figured out one day maybe.

They'll collect in those holes as the water drops until it gets into the low to mid 40's. They move out then until spring.

    I sent you a PM.

    Cheers
Glad to see that water is still healthy. Proof that persistence pays off in all things. Great day to be on the water and bonus fish.

Learned a bunch today. I finally figured the watch your line thing. I never really felt a thump except from a couple small ones. Gonna get this figured out someday.

Sounds like a good trip, and like you are putting the pieces together.

Nice! I considered going over there this morning, but I couldn't remember if they lock the gate by the gravel pits when deer season opens. I went to indian creek instead and caught one keeper and a few shorts.

Damion, looks like you are figuring them out. Are you baiting the gators with the fish on the stringer?

Well I’d planned on putting in at the old bridge because they were supposed to close the gates Friday. But I went to the chevron for a can of dip and rode down Pryor rd and the gate was open. So I put in in there.
