    Default Night fishing Talquin?

I'm thinking about running down to Talquin Friday night and wondered if anyone has been Speck chasing at night there.

A few years ago my wife and I was staying at Ingram’s and there was two men that fished at night only. It was in December though. They told us that they would have there limit in a few hours. One of them showed us pictures of previous trips.

It has been many years since I fished Talquin, but I would only try it at night if I had a REALLY good bow spotlight and a sharp-eyed spotter to help me idle through the standing timber.

I had some good outings in May and June but haven’t been in a couple weeks. That water is hot right now and keeping minnows alive might be an issue. I can’t seem to find a jig they will bite once the sun goes down. The bugs are brutal for the first few hours after sundown.Name: 61128737179__BFD89CD8-06F8-49FA-B4FD-D5D801860619.jpg

Thanks. I made a few glow in the dark marabou jigs I'm going to try along with some minners. Thinking I might start out in front if Goat island, see what happens.

That is the reason the two men I was talking to only fished at night during the winter, no bugs. They were having engine problems that night , so they used their trolling motor. They were only going around the point to some tree top extending above the water.

Fished last night. If you wait about an hour after the sun sets the bugs aren’t terrible. Caught 22 from 1030 until about 2. Biggest was 2.3lb.

I never made it out of the yard. Some critter got in my boat and turned in all the electronics. Battery dead, dead, dead, and left a nice present on the deck. Night fishing Talquin?Night fishing Talquin?Night fishing Talquin?.
    Maybe next week.
