    Default Knocking the rust off

My favorite got to all around combo, well once I catch some crappie, gills and perch on the combo it will be my all around. Now to shrink em down to the right size for them. Have caught a lot of other species on that color combo.

I'm thinking maybe half that size would be about right?? Any thoughts?

    Not sure on size but guessing 1/16th on a #6. Maybe???Name: 20200402_205635.jpg

On a side note, I want to get those 3 colors in the paint on the head of the jig. I have mixed 3 colors before and gotten a speckled effect where they didn't mix/blend but could be seen individually. Any reason the same wouldn't work with 3 colors? Me trying to get all 3 on a jig head without mixing them would drive me sane.

    Sorry, I've mixed 2 before, not 3.

Well if you mix them it will not show 3 colors and the best way to get 3 colors I would think airbrush painting or like some do just paint entire head one color then while still hot tap a artist brush with one of the other colors and then same for the 3rd color. Just use the tap a brush method.

I suppose I could polkadot the entire hting with either acrylic or latex, that would give a similar color pattern to the body.

Those are some good looking heads, and well tied jigs. Good colors too. Personally I like the idea of trying to get a given effect when painting heads, but you can drive yourself nuts some too. The tap a brush method works very well. I’ve seen some folks that really have a good hand for it. I’m more on the simpler side of it. Basic top/bottom different colors has done well for me. A hint of pink on the chin has also helped.
