You know that you can also use bamboo. Just another suggestion.
I saw posted this in another place on the board and got no response. I am in the process of gathering up approximately 2 inches by 2 inches by 8 ft wood strips for stake beds and am not having any luck. I know hardwoods are best, but can’t find any. I have a lead on some Spruce and “whitewood” but even that is expensive for the 100 strips I need. I’ve checked local lumber yards, saw mills, cabinet builders, etc. with no luck. Anyone have or know where I can get them within 100 100 miles of Memphis Tennessee? Thanks

I’m not within 100 miles of Memphis but I have a sizable patch of bamboo and you are welcome to 100 pieces or more if you want. I actually live about 30 minutes east of Hamilton alabama. Private message me and we’ll talk about it if you’re interested. I looked on a map. It’s 187miles from my house to Memphis but the offer still stands.

Do you have any pallet sawmills over there.
They would have oak trimmings.
Perfect for what you need.
Just a thought
