I don’t know of any lure that is great on so many different specie. I can go from catching trout all day to Gills......Smallies......crappie....shell cracker.....KY bass. It is the first lure I start out with and 95 percent of the time it is the lure tied on at the end of the day. It loses its action real quick if used with a jig head over 2 grams. Using light line is a must also.

    Regards

I have a lot of success with them and the crappie magnet is my number one bait I fish the trout magnet when the bite gets slow and they want that smaller profile. Pretty much the only two baits I carry anymore. And for the trout streams around here they are killer

We are killing the Trout with them right now in MDC urban fishing program around STL metro area. Are great for crappie and BG as well and occasional Green carp.

I’ve tried them for trout in Arkansas under a float, zip.

I’ve tried them around home on gills and crackers under a float, zip.

I haven’t tipped with anything though.

You're doing something wrong: wrong depth, wrong speed … something.

The float is not helping you in lakes/ponds. Lose it.

How do you cast those little light weight things with no float?

Light Line is a must. I use Japanese premium lines with small diameters. I can cast a 1/65 ounce TM 54-64 feet depending on which line I am using. Many folks will use a size "BB" split shot on the line about 18 inches above the TM to get casting distance.

Hate you haven’t had any luck with them, but like Disco said something is wrong. I wish I had a $1 for every trout I’ve caught on one of them. I’d be well on my way to a new boat.
