For our 50th anniversary in 2017 we rented a beach front house at OBX over Christmas big enough for my 2 sons and their families.
That's where we went on out honeymoon and it is a wonderful place to visit.
Jennettes's Pier is the most remarkable ocean fishing pier I've ever seen. Even if you don't fish it's worth going to see.
A running joke that week was the kidding I took from my grandkids because it took me a couple of days to realize that OBX stood for Outer Banks. One even gave me an OBX bumper sticker for Christmas the next year.

Good video. I subscribed. Love the outer banks when it’s like that and not crowded.

Nice video Brian. When will you be back on hickory after them white perch? I was out two days ago, they are thick back in the creeks right now. Lots of catfish are on the move as well.

Lived there for 22 years in the town of Currituck only about 17 miles to kitty hawk
Some of the best fishing and hunting anywhere around. I hated the crowd in the summer but learned to avoid certain days to go to the beach. Hope y’all had a great time. By the way , crappie fishing up there is kinda tuff sometimes but it made me a better crappie fisherman around here. We had brackish water and a lot of shallow water there

I found the catfish in gunpowder. Fished other areas of the lake yesterday without much success on catfish.

Spent last week at Hatteras. Probably the best trip we've had in a while. Early in the week, fished the Point and a few different ramps with limited success at best. Later in the week found them at Ramp 38. Monday, we had a few whiting and puffers and a slot red. Tuesday, one whiting in the cooler . Late Wed and most of Thursday, filled up the coolers with whiting and puffers . Friday, gale force winds and rain - no fishing . Saturday, probably the best keeper black drum bite I've been a part of in a long time. Let many blacks and a few reds return that were 0.5in too short, but filled up 2 coolers with some 18in blacks and a few >20in reds. A few random pics below. Sorry, a couple of them wouldn't come in right side up and I didn't bother with trying to fix it.

Nice catch. Envious of your catch of black drum. What bait?
