    Default Smithville Sunday morning

Fished main lake brush piles, only had 1 fish first 2hrs, finally found a pile that was holding some fish, didn't take long then. Ended up with 12 over and 6 under, used minnows with a nibble on weedless jig head. Needed the weedless hook, pretty narly pile, had several fish that got hung up 2 or 3 times coming out, fun morning. Name: 20190818_122912.jpg

Congratulations! I still haven't learn how to fish brush piles like you guys do. Any tips for a rookie?

From one rookie to another, I rely heavily on dumb luck lol. But the one thing that helped me was a better rod, couple years ago I got a BnM 12' SH, love this rod, can feel everything from bumping branches to light ticks, and it's a decent priced rod. I always try to fish straight down and if the fish gets hung up give it a little wiggle room.

Sounds like a good place to start. A Bing search is in my near future.
    Thanks!
