Main reason is because of the unprecedented flooding down stream in the delta. High Mississippi has kept a lot from draining. Plus we are just about to get into our rainy season. So bunches of rain and high water will slow down what they can release.

To add to this, Grenada Lake is around 57,000 acres right now and at 223.29, 10.2 feet above curve, draw down starts August 1st each year. They have been averaging .14 in drop per day that it does not rain. As the lake gets lower they may get to .25 drop a day. Let's use that number, it takes 4 days to drop it a foot, that's 41 days to get it where it should be today. At a lake level of 200 you can fish easy and fishing is good and using the .25 number it will take 93 days to get there, that puts us in the middle of November.
All that is using a bigger drop number they have been able to reach and no rain. I just don't see it hitting winter pool which is 193. I have seen it where you could put in at Bryant all winter long, that's 208+ and have seen years it never rose enough for us to use Bryant Landing. Fishing COE lakes that change as much as these four do is fun for sure.
