    Default Bridge poundin

Got the heads up from a friend that a local bridge was giving up some good fish. Worked yesterday and had to find out so off I went this morning. Didn’t even go early, started at about 8. Not much traffic and only saw a few boats out while I fished. It was about 30 minutes before I found the first fish but it stayed pretty steady after that. No giants, 12” was the best I could muster. Two good gills showed themselves and no others. Used my little tackle and had some good fun. Some of these fish hits like giants to find they were under 10”.

Olive and white did well, til it unraveled, as did the black and brown rubber leg, both hand ties. The squirrel tail never turned a fish. A yellow and tan also got a few but not with the frequency of the darker jigs. The black and brown is a 1/32 ball head with a #6 hook and did best of all for not losing fish. Lost at least one that would have been 13” or better, #8 hook pulled free.

Caught between 50 and 60, I stopped counting at 43. Nothing real small, all over 6”. 13 crappie and two nice gills came home for a friend that doesn’t get time to go. I’ll go back to this soon, I had a great time. Hope y’all got out and got a few. Maybe I’ll see you at the bridge next time. Til then......Skeet

Nice day & great catch !! You'd have to be hiding under some trees or a bridge as hot as it's been.

I don't think an umbrella or bimini top would do a whole lot with this heat !!
The finest gift you can give to any fisherman is to put a good fish back, and who knows if the fish that you caught isn't someone else's gift to you?"

Nice catch Skeet. The fish don't like all that sun either, huh? Thanks for the post.
