    That's how I got started on the fly rod. Gills sure are fun!

    No catches on the fly rod today. Was a weird day. Ended up catching some bass on a buzz bait. I need to get some more bass and crappie specific flies I think.

    Get some small Clouser minnows -- anything that looks like a bait fish.

    They have one called a crappie candy. I have a couple of those that I have tied and they work well. Closure minnows and smaller streamers also do the trick.
