The old guy next door shoots them with an air rifle all the time, game laws notwithstanding - I've seen him, and warned him not to shoot over my line. I'll not be asking him for tails, though, the squirrels around here are looking kinda sorry with ratty fur, fleas and wolves, skimpy tails, i.e. the usual squirrel summer issues. I'll shoot some this winter at my deer lease after it gets cold and they have their winter coats - and make gumbo, or fried with gravy with the meat.

Be sure to carry a pair of side cutters with you. A knife can be messy and make you handle more than you want to. I got a mature male red fox tail in NC so fresh that the blood was still wet and red. And seeing as he wasn’t using his tail anymore.....Originally Posted by ;3862296
