Thread: Academy Sports again

I went there last week but all they had on sale sale was no use to me. I guess I will swing by then again and see if it has changed.

Probably worth calling before you make the trip. The Springfield Missouri store didn't have anything really interesting on clearance, all bandits still rang up at 5.99. A few rods but just bass and catfish stuff.

Paducah, KY store had a few good crappie clearance deals but nothing I’d go out of my way for. Picked up a bunch of Mr. Crappie jigheads in two colors for .99/pack but that was about it.

If I called I might lose my excuse to browse all the fishing equipment.

Picked up a couple rods for the kids $4.98

Few jigheads @ .48, couple packs of Team Catfish hooks. All the good stuff was gone

Have some 12' Graphite B&M rear seat jig poles for $17..

I stopped by the store near me last night and most everything was gone. It looked like they had sold a bunch of rods. And there were a lot of open slots in the baits area. I guess I was a day late...

I never get anything good at my local Academy, I go in at least once or twice a week and all the clearance items are completely wipe cleaned on crappie gear and tackle. I'm starting to suspect an employee or two are crappie fisherman / women. Or maybe have friends or family who are. Got to get me a contact on the inside it looks like

Same here, Snubby. All these guys talking about BnM rods and other good stuff in other stores.......the one in Olive Branch does not impress me. However, they do have a good selection of Bobby Garland baits.....my go to bait!
