Thank you. No report today as I have to work on the Ranger boat project. The boats owner is coming by to help work on it. I'm not sure but I think we are going to start replacing gauges today.

Yesterdays trip was a bit slow. we only cleaned 18 of 34 not including the striped bass.

We caught both on crappie jigs and ultra-light action rods. They were fun and we had to prove that we knew how to fish as they greatly outclassed the tackle we were using.

Truthfully we were just goofing off with the striped bass and could have limited on them if we had wanted to.

When I first moved here I fished a lot with the original Six Old Geezers and had a minimum of 10 years of intensive striped bass training. The Geezers taught me Lake Texoma and even how to drive a boat. Time spent with them was a lot of fun. Most of the Geezers have gone on to be with the Lord by now so I won't be able to visit with them again until it gets my turn to go. Sunshine George was without comparison the best friend I ever had. In a world where most have ulterior motives George was always genuine. Even though it has been many years since he has left there is still a big hole in my life with his absence. One of the greatest honors of my life was to assist in George's baptism. The pastor at the time wasn't sure he could lift George back out of the water by himself. George insisted on being baptized in Lake Texoma and we did it at Lakeside Campgrounds and the whole church was there.

I also had the honor of attending both his 50th and 60th wedding anniversaries.

For those that don't know, George owned Sunshine/Grayline bait tanks.

I seem to have wondered off topic.

I went for about an hour after working on the Ranger project. It was weekend fishing. I know I should expect it but it still irritates me when a boat trolls within 50’ just to see what I’m doing.

I went after church yesterday to look for some more new brush piles. I found 5 and caught 38 crappie from them. I went by myself and I guess I was in a hurry to get done cleaning and forgot to take a pic.

The Lone Stranger and I went today looking for new brush piles and found 3 catching 18 crappie. We were both to lazy to clean fish so no pics today.

You may be setting your ambitions a bit low . 16 months will go by quicker than you think.
