Thread: Auction Night and other ramblings

Thomas didn't bring much I wanted. I got 2 copper cups, you can sit them down, you can pick them up, but you can't slap them over @ $5. Shirley said she needs one for when she gets to drinking.
Got 2 metal and glass hummingbird feeders @ $5. Got a gallon pump jug of Real Killer ant & roach spray @ $5.
Poppy has 5 gallon buckets with lids @ $2. An oil company changed the design on the bucket and he got 2 truck loads. The lids have never been set on a bucket so they still have the lock band on them.
Jimmy will be back Thursday night.

Doug brought a bunch of junk last night. A lot of Brinkman products, yard lights mostly. A lady close to me got a set of path lights. I checked them for her. All of the batteries were corroded so she returned them.
I few items I wanted, but went higher than I wanted to pay. I came home emptied handed.
Reserve came and 2 Penn Senator reels on heavy 6 ft rods started at $40, closed at $44 with 1 sold.

Bo is selling Friday night, he's from West Memphis.
Steven is selling Saturday night, he's from Ecru.

How did Bo's stuff do?

His stuff sold well at some good prices, we bought a good bit. 1 1/2 and 2" Min Wax paint brushes 1 for $2 or 3 for $5, I got 9 of each.
Another buyer quit work when he found out that he had stage 4 cancer. Bo put up 3 items and sold tickets, 1 for $5 or 3 for $10. All money collected going to the buyer. Other sellers added to the items. $100 was sitting on each box. Then the drawing started. Each item was drawn for 3 times. Each time the money was dropped in the bucket and new money was added. The 3rd winner of each item asked that the item be returned to Bo's sell. There was $2,300 collected. Thought that was a good bit from the small group that barely knows him.

Just good old Americanism . We have always taken care of our own , I wish the government would get out of the forced benevolence business.

What happened Saturday night?

I didn't go. I waited til almost dark and loaded pvc in the truck. Loaded the rest yesterday and delivered it to Bill at Batesville at 10:30 am today.
