Default wacky mini-soft sticks work as usual along with some others

Finally got out after days of hot humid weather and no breeze. This one lake I go to is no deeper than 14' and holds mostly small fish of any species: crappie, sunfish and bass. Fun nonetheless to be able to experiment with different soft plastics and lure presentations.

I poured this mini-stick in a new plastic that weighs more but is soft.

I was able to catch crappie and 3 other species wacky rigging it using a 1/24 oz jig head that hooked it in the middle and another surprise I never expect to work well - a hybrid finesse worm tail/attached to a grub body:

It looks weird but fish attacked it like no tomorrow! Too bad a pickerel ate it...

    As usual Slider Worms worked:

...and another hybrid: Joker Grub tails added to a grub body:

First time I tried this mini-swimbait and it did great!

    ...the one on the right:

The claw hybrid and the stick on the left worked well.

    Thanks guys.
If it wasn't raining I'd be on the lake trying some new stuff I formulated today.

(That reminds me - I have to pour some more mini swimbaits. The action was incredible!)

That bream must have been hungry to tackle that worm!

    Nice looking baits.
Pass the "Sportsman Baton" on before you're gone, promote values for others to hunt and fish upon.

Four species were caught on that lure and six others. That lure caught crappie, many sunfish, a bass and finally got stolen by a pickerel.

I'm always searching for specific lure actions combined with the right size that provoke strikes. I figure that fish, hungry or not, see and feel the difference between lures and only certain ones make fish explode. Bob (Snake River) understands lure design excellence and sells lures he knows catch fish anywhere, any day, any time, always on the lookout for more.

Kind of an obsession if you ask me and so satisfying when some are discovered, tested and found provocative to any fish species. I kinda for joy (at least in my head)!

Not much for fishing in a downpour and we got 4 days of rain coming starting right now; can't even mow my 1 plus acre lawn. Plus with the heat and humidity
this week, could only get out Thurs. and caught 69 fish with a vengeance! If I could fish 6 days a week, I would! (Gotta spend at least one day with the wife.)

I have boxes and boxes of old soft plastic lures accumulated over 38 years and now I have the time in retirement to visualize uses for them. (Isn't that what candles are for?!! ) At least when I've discovered good designs that work all of the time, I can stock up on them in colors and sizes I prefer.
