It doesn't Wes - but HB isn't known for showing all of their cards at the same time either....

Exactly! Not getting rid of my Da Ducer or SI on front of the boat. I have to have SI/DI of my Mega on the front.

I honestly don't see why they can't engineer a way to remove the 2D ducer and make an adapter that would let you mount any tm ducer that you wanted. Not going to void my warranty but if I had a junk Ulterra on my hands I'd give it a shot. If you removed the 2d I would think you would be able to thread another cable up in it's place. Keeping it watertight would be the biggest hurdle. If HB wanted I'm sure their engineers could make this happen. Of course that would cut the sales of new Mega units so I won't hold my breath.

Exactly what I did. Rickie has a couple of products that mount your transducer on the bow and one of them mounts it directly on the trolling motor. I took the US2 off about two weeks after trying it and threw it away then mounted my Mega transducer on my TM. Absolutely awesome!

https://precisionsonar.com/products/ scroll down to cable guard (video). Buy this from Rickie, though, as he can also walk you through any issues or questions and he is a Crappie.com contributor.

"The new MEGA DI Minn Kota motors will be available in all Freshwater Ulterra, Terrova, Ultrex, and Fortrex models and it will come SOLIX ready for connection. There will be an adapter that the Helix users will need to connect to this motor. Also this motor will come in the Link version only as it is exclusive to only Humminbird MEGA units. This will be chirp MEGA DI and Chirp sonar which will give a very clear image on both sonar and DI. These motors will be available mid to late October. The original motor with US2 built in will still be available for the customers that will run Lowrance, Garmin, or Raymarine units."

Manufacturers will not build anything they can't sell. Manufs don't share info like us/we crappie fishermen do. Crappie fishermen are gracious and manufs are greedy.
