    I would call it a kip tail jig. Some tie with just a thread neck collar and the kip tail and some have a chenille body like these and either exposed thread or not. Just kind of depends on what someone likes. I tie the ones I make with no body materials. I do always use Red thread and I don't put flash on my kip tail jigs, but I add a piece/strip of Red Floss coming from the neck to the tail end.

    Slatter jigs makes a jig like that with a wing, called "Cajun Special."

    wow, those sure are pretty. I don't have anything in my tackle box like that. You know, a neighbor of mine at my camp on Lake Lafouche said his son was thinking about selling all of his fly tying equipment. I think I'd like to try this. It looks like a great hobby.
