    Default Uncle Don's coffeehouse 2018

In other news, no reports from me for the weekend.

UNLESS, they are garage door spring repair reports.

Had a spring bust, and a Custom 18 Foot Insulated garage door is a bit heavy (Has traces of Kryptonite) so I wont try to lift it at all.......

So the dang door is Boat Blocking.......

If I can’t get it fixed over the weekend, it’s a great time to get the rest of my feels calibrated.

Aaron, you fixing that garage door yourself or hoping to find someone to fix it for you. Torsion springs? Not hard to replace a spring, if you need help let me know.

Ditto. I've done it twice on my garage door.

I’m up, no need to rush over...... lol

    They are EZ-Set Torsion Springs.

Just use a drill and release tension. Then loosen the set screws.

Hard part now is finding new ones.

Menards can order them, but the “Industry Standard Colors” do not match the spring sizes any longer.

Green is now White, and Orange is now some other color.

That’s to match the spring size painted on the springs

.218x1-3/4x42 is now white, not Green.

    Green is now .244x1/34x52/58/66
But no one can tell me if the new coils size is due to needing beefier springs or not.

Menards to order is about 2 weeks.
Going to check a couple of places this week when they open.

If it has adjusters on each end you can tighten the good end more to help with lifting the door. I don't usually put that type in when I do doors, I like the old fashioned torsion springs better.

It’s a custom 18 foot insulated door, the one Spring is not enough to lift it.

One could say it’s almost Becky Heavy...........
