    They closed the gates below the pontoon bridge, yesterday, to hold the level at 9 feet (NAVD 1988) at the pontoon bridge. This usually messes up the fishing for a while but once it settles the fishing should be good. If it doesn't rain too much the level of the lake should hold steady.

    Last Thursday, even with a good North wind, it appeared as though there was a current moving North......while I was tight lining with shiners, my line angled toward the North.....?????.....

    Wind forces water in strange directions when it's a closed system. If the locks were closed the water forced South by the wind would have to go some where else and that might be North in a narrower area that wasn't as effected by the wind. East wind in White and Grand Lake will push the Mermentau gauge up like a pump.
