Took a young couple out Saturday. Water clarity was less than a foot after all the rain. Wind was tough too out of the Northeast. Bite was slow early, we caught 3 fish before noon. Bite got better later in the day after it warmed up. We ended the day with 16 keepers and caught another 10 short fish. Our best fish were 14 inches and around a pound and half. Caught all the fish in 12 ft or shallower on brush. Best colors in the chocolate milk were black and pink, black and chartreuse and purple and chartreuse. We had fun day and the young lady caught the biggest fish... life is good.

Man was it windy today. Got out right around 6:30 south end of the lake. By 9 I had 5 in the box a few dinks after that all 5 males and only one was kinda on the bank. Others were still tight on brush around 15ft. So someone school me on how this works. Males move up first make a bed area then females will follow shortly? Oh water temp was 60-63.

I was up in the chocolate mild on Talala creek and caught a few. All males, about 9". Looks like I'm gonna have to go to Eufaula if I want to catch a few good ones.

Here I thought you MEANT to say mild, as in lighter-colored chocolate, instead of dark chocolate.

Lower part of the lake wasn't that bad. Going back in the morning hopefully do a little better this time.

Caught about 25 only 5 keeping size. Still deep mostly, but finally got a few females this time. Seemed to be liking gold colors. Lake has been slowly dropping have a feeling it has likely been a cause for a slow bite
