Caught 9 yesterday in 28' of water. tried shallow because I have heard so much about crappie being caught in shallow brush but could not prove it on Texoma. When I left deep water I quit catching fish. It was cast and retrieve and the fish hit as I picked the jigs up off the bottom near a drop off where the water fell from 22' to 30'. Crappie on bottom and Sand Bass above them.

As one of the guests, I'd have to say that we had a great time with the wrangler. We learned a new technique for fishing, got some pork, and enjoyed a great dinner from Mrs. Wrangler.

Arthritis has been pretty tough the last few days but seems a little better today. I am going to try to make a Eufaula fishing trip later this week with a friend who is an exceptional crappie fisherman and has a pattern going right now. Bonus is that he has one of the same down scan depthfinders as I do and can show me how to set mine up for optimal imaging.

I made the Eufaula trip with my buddy the "caveman". There were a lot of fisherman everywhere we went. The cold front seemed to slow things down just a little but we still caught plenty of fish. I am accustomed to a 10" minimum size limit but I was shown by lots of fisherman that does not exist on Eufaula. The crappie were very healthy and shaped like footballs so even the short fish provided good fillets. The trip was a bit of a luxury to me because all I had to do was sit in the back of the boat and fish. My buddy did all of the guiding . I fished in deeper water than he did using my 1/4 oz spoon while he used s cork. I think he caught 2 more than I did but my spoon produced bigger fish. It was enjoyable fishing new water for a change.

An interesting observation, I recently bought a truck from a friend of mine who always ran regular ethanol in it and got 11 mpg out of it. I have ran 2 tanks of non-ethanol super in it and got 15.3 mph on this trip.
