A thought? If sandy soil in Florida, you can use a rototiller. Remove outer blades and let her go in the right direction. It will/may do most of the hard work for you. Or, be lazy like me and nicely ask a bunch friends to help.

Actually did something similar in the North Alabama clay. Didn't get quite as deep as I needed but made the job much simpler.

What would be the point. Its all sand here anyway.

And yes spaceman that would work. But I left the rototiller in Illinois. I know exactly where its at. About 1000 miles away. Maybe I just buy a new one. I was gonna rent a trencher. We'll see, have to wait for the back to get better before I can do anyrhing anyway.

And canebreaker, I was very surprised how fast sand can get saturated. And how fast the buckets of water can fall down here. Its like a hurricane sometimes, wait, what, it is!!!!

Just rent a trencher. Lots of fun keeping it straight. lol But very fast. Just make sure you call who ever you supposed to call before you dig. Don't want to cut through anything.

Looks like good fish habitat to me. Just drill some holes add weight and drop in the lake . The minnows and crayfish will enjoy their new home.

I still have some 40 buckets to remove from the drip of the house as soon as it melts enough to pour down the hillside.

Run the tiller a few inches deep then rake back for shallow run offs.
