I've had Terrova for years the spot lock WILL NOT HOLD on a tight spot. 20-30 feet is about the best you're gonna get.
My Ulterra is the same. What I hate is when it quits locking and you don't realize it and run over your marker buoy or your shallow brushpiles and spook all the fish.

Which year model of the TM? I hope this isn't the newest models with new and improved spot lock....LOL

Mine is a 2016 (early model).
Supposedly the new ULTREX is better. But that is cable steer. I like the remote steer.

The ultrex is available with I-pilot or I-pilot Link .... both can use the foot pedal or remote control ....The spot lock is supposed to be MUCH improved over previous versions.

I believe it is still steered by a electric motor? How else would I-pilot or I-Pilot link work?

FWIW

Has anyone purchased one of the newer ipilot+bluetooth motors yet?

I prefer the Ulterra with the auto deploy and stow features.
Maybe they will put the improved spotlock feature on them too.
