Not sure how many batteries I would need or the total cost for the change out. I can buy AGM batteries at cost as a result of owning a autoparts store.

I took a look at the site. Is that true, that you sell a 24 volt trolling system that will recharge while the motor is on? How's that work if your motor is on 12 volts. Or did I read that wrong?

YES, we do. It is a DC charging system that will work with the AC charger and the outboard and charge when plugged up to shore power and also charge when you are running around the lake.

We currently offer this system in a 36v and 24v

Now that is some cool technology right there. Not sure I need it cause generally I don't fish real long. But tourney guys and all day fishermen will likely appreciate that.

Impulse Lithium, I currently use two 12v golf cart batteries for my 24v trolling motor. I do a lot of trolling at up to 2mph and I can get a full day out of my batteries. Can I get that much run time out of the 24v 60ah lithium battery?

Conventional batteries (AGM / Lead Acid) are, at best, good for 50% of the rated capacity. So a 100Ah AGM battery will net you around 50% or 50Ah of usable energy. Our Lithium products have cylindrical cells and can be discharged 100% so you will get the total 60Ah if using a 24v-60ah battery

It is typical to see much longer run times with Lithium

I spoke to them yesterday and was impressed with their knowledge and suggestions for the equipment if have and Livescope to be installed.

Think they will be a great supporter of this site and its members.

    Impulse Lithium,
First, welcome! Secondly, as far as a cranking battery, where/what are the advantages over lead acid or AGM? I can see the advantages for trolling motor and stand alone electronics batteries.
Do you have a simple calculation for determining needed ah capacity that we could use as everyone’s rigs are set up uniquely?
For example, very windy day and I have to use highest setting on 70# 24v trolling motor and its an 8 hr day, do I need 320 ah available to me, as I think my amperage is in the mid 40’s on high?
I just don’t want to be under sized or out of power if caught in less than desired conditions. Thanks again.

You will get more power from the lithium to start, and unless you have a tank of a boat or trolling at 2.5-3mph it doesnt sound right to need your 24v on 100%. If you are using it to pull cranks at 2.5mph all day then you should probably up to a 36v or go ahead and get the 150ah lithiums at least.

Minnkota motors can only run for short periods over 80%, i think its 40 seconds or something like that. But with mine, 8 with lithium is faster than 100% with lead acid ever was. And on rabbit-go-fast mode i get about 0.9mph faster than previous batteries.

With my boat (17' deep v) and 24v minnkota, i can troll at 1.5mph (on 3) for 8 hours and still be at 89-90% charge with lithium 50Ah ionics.
