Custom Hand Tied Jigs and Hand Poured Jig Heads

I started out a while back wanting to tie jigs for my own use. I got tired of the low quality jig heads available to me at the various retail outlets. I was also tired of having to bust out the paint in the hook eyes. I then ordered some bare lead jigs from a guy I had purchased from before, bought a couple of jars of powder paint and made my jig heads. Being a person that loves to make things with my own hands, I later decided to buy a mold or two, some lead, and a pouring pot so I could make my own from start to finish.

By the way, if you don't already know, this hobby has the tendancy to take over. The next thing I knew, I had a bunch of molds, hooks, paint, feathers, and chenille, etc... Oh, and a wife that was starting to get concerned about the number of packages being delivered.

In order to help cover part of my hobby expenses, to ease some of the wife's concerns, and possibly to fund future addiction treatment sessions, I've decided to offer them to fellow fishermen here on CDC.

I currently make the following jigs: barbless round heads, wire retainer round heads, and screw-loc round heads. I have supplies to make hackle and marabou feather jigs, as well as buck tail jigs. I use only high quality sickle hooks. I bake my jig heads for maximum durability after they have been coated with powder paint. I don't paint eyes on my jigs, but I have been considering adding capabilities for 3D eyes.

Where possible, I try to purchase my supplies from others here on CDC, or at least from reputable suppliers mentioned in the many forums.

There are a lot of great people here on CDC that offer high quality items. Many have been making jigs for a long time, and many have given me some great advice. My goal is to be able to provide fellow fishermen with items of at least a similar quality, with a good turnaround time, at a fair price, and still be able to enjoy my passion of fishing. If you use my jigs or jig heads, I promise that you will never need to bust out baked-on powder paint from the hook eyes. They come ready to fish!

If you are interested, please send me a PM. If you have a preferred weight, hook size, and color pattern, please include that info with your message.

    References available on request.

Do you have 1/32 ounce screwlock heads and if not, do you know when you'll start making them? I'd prefer them with a light wire hook.

The wire spring I buy just barely fits the 1/16 size head. If I find a different wire that would work, I would consider modifying one of my molds to make it. I’ll let you know if I come up with something.

Hook size is up to you. I stock #6, 4, 2, 1 and 1/0. I have modified my molds to handle at least up to size 1 on most cavities. I can double check if you are wanting a large hook with 1/32oz Head.
