I've researched all the fishing knots and even tested the ones that were touted as being the best for terminal tackle. When I started fishing the only one I knew was the cinch knot, then discovered the "improved" cinch knot, which I used for decades. Seems the most used knot now is the "palomar knot", especially in bass fishing. I tested the palomar against all the other knots that boasted 100% line strength, and found that NONE of them was 100%, except for the"Trilene knot", and even it failed one in six tests. My testing method was to set two hooks in a vice, one a 4/0 worm hook and the other a gold crappie minnow hook. I tried each knot six times on both hooks with a slow steady pull 3 times and a sharp pull 3 times. The Trilene knot was the only one that broke the line ABOVE the knot 5 of 6 times. That was convincing enough to me, since all the others broke in the knot virtually every time. I used mono for the tests, and tried super lines, but the only knots that held were the trilene and palomar, but again the line broke in the knot using the palomar. All the knots were tied correctly and pulled down wet to avoid stressing the line.
I then tested the knots that tied two pieces of line together...blood knot, nail knot etc, etc. they were about equal, but I preferred the blood knot due to the simplicity of tying it.
What I would like to find now is a knot that will tie a mono leader to a braided line without using a swivel between them. I like the sensitivity of the braids, and the lo-vis of the mono, but can find no knots that are reliable for joining the two.

I've heard there is a knot that will work, but nobody I know can tell me how to tie it. With all the knowledgeable fishermen on this board, surely someone has tied this knot? I've tried all the "knot.coms" but they all have the old standards. If anyone can contribute, give me a post?
Thanks,
Bill
