Default Tom Mann Died Today!

great alabama bass champion and HUMMINBIRD founder

http://www.mannsbait.com/
manns pet bass
Tom Mann fished the B.A.S.S. circuit for 17 years, and was a top contender. Mann fished the first seven Bassmaster Classics. Before retiring from the B.A.S.S. tournament trail, he was named a Pro`s Pro by his peers. He was the only pro to fish exclusively with his own lure designs.
Tom and Ann Mann started Mann`s Bait Company in 1968 and built it to one of the largest lure manufacturers in the world. Tom was one of the earliest pioneers on structure fishing. He designed and founded Humminbird depth finders in the early 70`s. It is now one of the largest depth finder companies in the world. Tom Mann also founded Southern Plastics in 1975. It is now the largest supplier of soft plastics world wide and they are now marketing over 100 private brand names.
Tom Mann has made many accomplishments in the fishing industry:
>Inducted into the Fishing Hall of Fame, and awarded the highest honor to be bestowed on a professional fisherman, The Dolphin Award
>Selected as Small Business Person of the year in 1979
>Inducted into the Freshwater Fishing Hall of Fame in 1986 for his accomplishments and contributions to the sport of fishing.
>Mann has sold over a billion lures, and is considered one of the world's top lure designers.
>Hosted numerous fishing shows over the past 18 years on: ESPN, TNN, Sports South, The Sunshine Network, The Outdoor Channel, and other syndicated shows.
>Inducted into the Professional Bass Fishing Hall of Fame
Mann`s latest venture is developing an outdoor television program geared to make outdoor sports, particularly fishing, appeal to the whole family. The format features Tom Mann and Tina Booker, one of the first female co-hosts for a program of this type. Tina is an expert angler, and comes from a family of avid outdoorsmen. She can fish any lure, and is considered one of the best soft plastics fisherman in the nation. Tom and Tina Outdoors is now airing nationwide on The Sportsman Channel, and can also be seen on the internet on Outdoor Broadcasting.com and fishing.com.
Tom and Tina guarantee you to become a more knowledgeable fisherman after attending this two day fishing school. Join them one full day in a classroom environment teaching the basics of fishing. The next day will be spent on water teaching the fundamentals of structure fishing with a depth finder, and how to locate fish. By the time you complete this course, you will be thinking like a fish!

He's gonna be missed. I grew up on Mann's jelly worms and his little jelly grubs.

Nat, you're not suppose to eat jelly worms and jelly grubs - supose to catch fish with them and eat the fish! Musta had them confused with jelly beans and gummy bears.

I hate to hear this. I grew up "robbing" Dad tackle box for the Mann's baits he had in their to go fishing for the local pond fish. I love watching his show when I can catch it in the TV. He will be missed in all fishing.
