    Default early crappies

I was just wondering if any of you go after crappies before the regular fishing opener. If so, what tactics do you use? Will you find them deep or shallow? You see, I'll be up that way around april 15 in vilas cty, and will be ready to git after em! Never have I fished until walleye season opened, and would like to catch some perch and crappies before then. Will be on the Flambeau chain. Thanks for any tips you may have for me. ND

I go searching right after ice out.I search depths 15 feet or less.Fish that are feeding are usually shallow, and in waters holding muddy bays, that are usually found in the northern most bays.

    I use plastics that immitate minnows,and insects,fished 18-inches under a small pencil float,or a regular slip bobber.

    Good luck this season!:D
