Fort Hood has privatized housing also, but I don't want to live on post, I have way too much stuff and I need some room. The boat for one. Your trying to move up to lewis in 09, how you doing that?

PCS up there. I was stationed there before 99-02 in the Infantry. I fly the 58D now and they just moved some of my Aircraft up there. I only have about 16 months that I have to do on station here at Ft. Rucker.

Silver lake has some nice crappie. I have had days that I can get 100 crappie over 1 pound with lots over 1.5 lbs. You will not need down riggers there:D .

Thanks I'll remember that when I move out there again. Can you put in fish structure in Washington legally? I was out this past weekend because My Aunt was in the Hospital and I got to go to the new Cabelas in Lacey. It was alright but I think the Sportsmans warehouse is still cheaper.

Does anyone know anything about a lake called clearlake? I think its a rec lake since I was told the max speed on it was 5 mph or so. Thats not fun. I think its in or around yelm.

Smitty, BAH did go up at Lewis, I looked yesterday and when I get there it should be about 200 bucks more.

Smitty, forgot to mention that the 200 is for a SFC with dep. Didn't look at any others since it didn't pertain to me. Go to Military.com, I think they have the new rates posted.

I'll have to look at that. I'm a W-2 with Dep and our BAH went up 400 bucks here at Rucker. I gotta move back off post in my rental that I only pay 400 bucks for a month. I could bank alot of money and save up for a new boat. I havent heard of clear lake.

Nice little lake to fish during the spawn (late April though May..or..2nd week of June some years). The cove straight accross the lake from the ramp is best. There's some nice humps and logs the middle of the cove and off the point leading into it. You can spot them on your graph if you work back and forth around that area. Boat ramp was really shallow last time I went. You can cover most of the lake in half a days fishing. Ohop and Tanwax might have faster action but Clear Lake can kick out some nice crappie. Gotta work from them though.
Fishing is nice, but I prefer to spend my time on the water catching :D

Need to know more about crappie in Washington? Washington Crappie Page

Slabking, how big of a boat can you put on Clear Lake and does it have a motor size limit? I'm still looking for a house, don't know if I'm gonna rent or buy, right now I still have to rent out one house in Killeen. Bad market right now.
