    Default Kapowsin

So I made it out to Kapowsin last Saturday for a bit and the crappies weren't up yet. Highest water temps I could find were 57-58 degrees but it should happen soon. We caught a few trout but no crappies.

Of course my motor is running like crap so I'll have to work on that before the next trip.

I took a walk down the train tracks with my dogs on Sunday afternoon. Nothing ......:D. At least the pads are starting to come up. Shouldn't be too much longer now. We only stayed for about an hour before it started to drizzle so we left. Didn't help that the dogs where splashing around in the water every time I started to walk out on a log to make a cast.. I was going to swing by Ohop on the way out but never did. Let us know when you hit something out there. I swear some of the best tasting bluegills you can find are in that lake.
Fishing is nice, but I prefer to spend my time on the water catching :D

SUP? SLAB AND TRAIL , OHOP IS A NO -GO I BEEN HITTING IT FOR THE LAST TWO WEEKS AND THE ONLY THING BITING WAS BROWN CATS AND TROUT. I WENT LAST NIGHT AND THE SKUNK MADE AN APPEARANCE . PADS ARE FORMING AROUND THE EDGE , SO HOPEFULLY IF THE WEATHER MAN IS TELLING THE TRUTH THE CRAPPIE SHOULD BE RISING WITHIN A COUPLE OF WEEKS; OH HE SAID IT SHOULD BE NO RAIN IN THE FORECAST AND WE SHOULD HIT LOW 70'S ALL NEXT WEEK.

Yeah, the spawn is right around the corner now. This weather is looking really good. I'll check Lake WA on Saturday then Tanwax and maybe Kapowsin on Sunday.

Let me know when you hit something on Ohop CB. I'll drag the boat down and we can go get on 'em.

Yea, I'll let you know. I'm not going to get out this weekend unfortunately, with all the warm weather they may have moved up. Hopefully I'll be able to get out next weekend. If we go by moon phase, once they do move up they should be there until the first weekend in June when they should spawn as thats the next full moon cycle. Then the females will be gone but we should have a couple weeks of males guarding fry before they move out.

mmmm bluegills, yea I'm waiting on the beds at St. Clair to hit some of them unless I pick them up by accident.

Took the boat out from 8am-noon on Saturday. Looked all over for the crappie and found a few small males in 15 feet of water suspended 4 feet down. Caught maybe 5 or 6 little guys before moving up into the swamp area in the north end were we found some decent bluegill action. Ended up tossing back about 14 and keeping 9 decent ones for a little fish fry on Sunday. Should get better soon. I'll post a pic when I get the pics uploaded. Water temp was from 59-63.
