Default Any body went out fishing?

Weather has been very nice since the last weekend? Anybody went out fishing crappy? It seems not too many people hanging around this forum.

I just moved here, living in Belleuve. I used to fish crappies in Ohio, where I know lot of good spots. Could you guys give some hints where I should go, if the place is close to Belleuve , that would be great?

I am not sure about that far north but I know a few guys will be able to help you out. It is going to take about two weeks straight of what we just had today to get thies fish up into pre spawn and good fishing to be had. I will be out around the 20th this month, and will have a report when I get back.
To land one of my crappie i need a gaff and a .22 pistal :D

larsen/blueberry is in bellevue. that thing is full of crappie and has great bank access. bobber with about 2'-3' leader and a 1/64oz-1/16oz w/maggot will slay em' at the right times. they will start to spawn in early to mid may. then you can catch them right next to the bank in 1' of water or less. most are small about 7" with a few at 9". but slabking last year got about a 14"er during the spawn....

CK is right on the money. Larsen/Blueberry will turn on first in your area. Don't let the size of that pond full you, there are some big bass and tons of crappie on there. It would be worth a shot now. If nothing else you might catch a few trout. By the end of April you'll be able to clean house on those crappies. I've done best using an all black jig but they'll hit anything you can toss at them. Crankbaits, spinners, flies, they all work there.

Keep watching the forum, things will pick up big time come April. Also, just about everyone on the board has a boat and I'm sure you'll get plenty of offers to hitch a ride out this spring to chase some fish.
Fishing is nice, but I prefer to spend my time on the water catching :D

Once daylight savings starts I'm going to start hitting the water.

i went down to Silver (castle rock) on sunday and didn't get a nibble or a bite. the water was at 48, and the folks down there said the fish were biting the last couple of weeks. there's two days the fish always bite. The day before i get there and the day after i leave.

Do you guy use live minnow? If you do, is there a local bait store close to the Larsen Lake?

live minnows are not alowed to be used in the state of washington, other wise we would use them. A lot of us use the Berkely Crappie nibbles or maggots.

You can't use live bait. Well except for worms and such.
