Thread: Ed's Marine Superstore, Ashland Virginia

Hey guys--Is anyone near Ashland Virginia or faimiliar with Ed's Marine Superstore? He has about the best deals I can find on the net and was wondering if anyone had any dealings with him in the past..My problem is he wont ship a mercury motor for some reason..I was maybe wanting to hook up with someone from this board to pick it up and ship it to me iff possible..I know this might be a long stretch but I figured I'd try!! thanks guys, pm me if you want to...thansk again

I have always heard that the prices are real good but the service is terrible. When i bougth my boat he had the best price but couldnt have it ready for six weeks. I found a place that had it ready in less than a week. If you still want to buy from them send me a PM and i'll help out if i can.:D di dyou check these folks.

I have not had any dealings with them, so can't reply on their honesty. If you do need someone to ship it, I will be coming right by your place the 20th of this month on the way to Iowa and have an enclosed trailer I'm hauling. I should have enough room for a motor. So PM me if you need a hauler.

You need to do some more internet research before you give Ed's money, sight un-seen. Google Ed's marine and bad words. Pages and pages of reading on www.tidalfish

I think they have a policy that all motors sold by them have to be mounted by them.......

From what I've read that sounds like a smart decision.

Probably a good idea. I tried to buy a motor from another dealer in another state and they wouldn't sell it to me either. Like Don said they have to mount it for the warranty work and so they can get the $400-500 fees. I ended up finding a dealer that would work with them and do the mount and warranty papers, but that dealer still wouldn't sell it.
